Harper Johnson

Harper Johnson is a remarkable individual whose dedication and commitment to serving the Town of Mantua as a public works director for thirty years set him apart as an exceptional employee and public servant. Known for his unwavering loyalty, strong work ethic, honesty, and resourcefulness, Mr. Johnson impacted the community. Throughout his tenure, he worked tirelessly on street maintenance, engineering projects, and infrastructure upkeep, ensuring the town's facilities were in top condition. His dedication to excellence was evident in his role in recruiting and training new staff, including personally mentoring his successor to ensure a smooth transition as he retired in January 2024. Harper Johnson's outstanding leadership and passion for his work truly made him an invaluable asset to the Town of Mantua.

 

Marcus Abel

Marcus Abel, dedicated Public Works Director for Mantua since 2024 and employee since 2017, has demonstrated exceptional leadership in maintaining the town's pristine appearance. With a diverse educational background encompassing Cultural Anthropology, Macroeconomics, and Information Science, Abel graduated in 1999 and has since applied his expertise to the benefit of Mantua. He upholds a commitment to sound decision-making, professionalism, and transparency, ensuring the continued prosperity of the town. Abel's unique skill set and unwavering dedication make him an invaluable asset to the Mantua community.

 

Jeff Hammer

In 2008, Jeff Hammer became a part of Mantua Utah, where his extraordinary skills in grounds maintenance have been truly appreciated. Known for his charm, charisma, and strong work ethic, Jeff Hammer is a standout employee who consistently goes above and beyond. His dedication to keeping the grounds in impeccable condition is evident in his meticulous work, often seen operating the riding lawn mower to ensure every detail is perfect. Jeff Hammer's presence at Mantua Utah has undoubtedly contributed to the exceptional appearance of the grounds, making him an indispensable member of the team.

 

Eric Waters

Eric Waters, a dynamic addition to Mantua Utah in 2024, serves as the esteemed assistant public works director. Infusing his role with humor and warmth, Eric has quickly endeared himself to colleagues and community members alike. Through his engaging personality and genuine connections, he has cultivated a cohesive and productive work atmosphere within the town office and public works department. Our mission at the Mantua Public Works Department is to provide efficient and high-quality services to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors of our town.

During the spring and summer seasons, our department focuses on maintaining and improving the town's infrastructure. This includes repairing roads, sidewalks, and bridges, as well as landscaping and maintaining public parks and green spaces. We also work diligently to ensure the proper functioning of the town's water supply and sewage systems.

As the fall arrives, our attention shifts to preparing for the winter months. We prioritize snow removal and salting roads to ensure safe travel for all residents. Additionally, we conduct routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure they are in optimal condition for the colder weather.

Throughout the winter season, our main focus is on snow and ice removal to keep roads clear and safe for residents and emergency services. We also continue to monitor and maintain the town's water supply and sewage systems to prevent any disruptions due to freezing temperatures.

Overall, the Mantua Public Works Department is dedicated to serving the community with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in all that we do.
